Meet Hisaye Emmanuel, a resident of Nalugondo Parish in Tademeri subcounty in Budaka District who has chased poverty out of home using the Ugx1M that was disbursed to him under the Parish Development Model (PDM) in 2023..Hisaye who belongs to Nalugondo Poultry farmers enterprise group1 in Nalugondo-Tademeri PDM SACCO appreciated government of Uganda for introducing such a great program that has changed his life from betting into the money economy.In an interview with the district stakeholders during the capturing of success stories on PDM, Hisaye informed members that he received the Parish Revolving funds on 9th August 2023 and he bought 15 turkeys.He added that out of the 15 turkeys,14 were females and 01 male which costed him about Ugx590,000/=. He further explained that he used the balance to buy a chain link fence, feeding traps, drinkers and constructed shade for his turkeys.  In December 2024, he sold his 75 turkeys and got Ugx2.8M that he used to buy a plot of land at Ugx2M and the balance he used to buy a heifer and constructed a residential house for his family since they were residing in a grass thatched house.Hisaye added that in the third lot during this recent Christmas festival of 2025, he sold off the off springs and got Ugx3M. He again bought land using part of the money and paid fees for his children.“I appreciation His Excellency the president of the republic of Uganda for the program and request that the seed capital be increased since Ugx1M is inadequate for a farmer like me knowledgeable in managing projects,” Hisaye said.Hisaye emphasized that he used to be idle betting but now he’s too busy with his projects that have changed his life and put money in his pockets.He appreciated the voters for voting back His Excellency the President in power evident by several projects that he has put in place like Emyooga, SAGE and PDM that have changed lives of many people in Bugwere.He encouraged those who have never got the PRF to be patient since everyone will get and called upon the youth to move closer to their localities so that they are captured on the PDMIS which is the beginning step towards benefiting from the program. Hisaye is now left with 19 turkeys as his current stock.The beneficiaries from the different parishes of Budaka appreciated government for PDM and assured the district stakeholders that they are ready to pay back the funds to enable others benefit since it is a revolving fund.
