2023 PLE RESULTS ANALYSIS FOR BUDAKA DISTRICT

Budaka District registered a total of 5298 candidates and out of those, 5249 candidates sat for their Primary Leaving Examination in 2023.According to Mr. Waako Richard, the Principal Education Officer, he said that the best candidates in the district scored 05 aggregates and they were from Namirembe Primary SchoolHe noted a decline in Division I, II and IV as per the previous results. He added that an improvement was registered in Division III with 1189 candidates.Mr. Waako further explained that the best Subcounty was Budaka Town Council with 193 candidates in Division I equivalent to 23%, with only 51 candidates in Division (U) representing 6%.In addition to that, he said the Sub counties with many failures were from Budaka with 166 candidates, followed by Kakoli with 48%, Mugiti 43%, Kaderuna 42% and Kachomo 41% respectively. Prior to that,he added that the Town Council of Lyama, Tademeri ,Kabuna, Kachomo and Kadimukoli sub counties did not have any scores in Division 1 in the 2023 PLE results.He attributed the poor performance to several challenges observed to be persistent each and every year and they included ; absenteeism of pupils especially those along the Namatala belt, automatic promotion, failure by the School Management Committee to perform their roles, non-completion of the syllabus by the teachers and irregular assessment of learners.
